Observing Skaters

By: rbrowning

The first time I took our son to the local skate park over a year ago I sat and watched as he made his way around the pavement.  But I’m not very good at sitting and watching—I’d rather be doing.  I’m not very good at skate boarding either, but I’m having a ton of fun going to the skate park with John.

The Only Way To Coach

By: cjmcgown

There has been a lot of talk in the volleyball community about the central premise of Gold Medal Squared, and the misconception that “GMS says there is only one way to coach/play/train, and that way is their way”.  I’d like to address that idea directly with this post, and try to put to bed some of the misunderstanding that seems to exist.

Expectations

But we did not expect win. So what happened…we won in five games. The players were euphoric. We just had a big win.

The Ultimate Over-Achievers

By: jwatson

This past weekend, unbeknownst to many here in the United States, the Wallabies (Australia) defeated the Springboks (South Africa) and advanced to play the All-Blacks (New Zealand) in the second semi-final of the Rugby World Cup.  Over the past year, these three teams have been the most dominate in World Rugby.

Self-Esteem

By: admin

What I’ve come to greatly appreciate in working with the crew at GMS, is the cadre of coaches in the company and those you get to meet. These relationships have proven critical in my own coaching development.
